Summer’s over!  I can tell, not by the weather but, by the amount of time we have been spending in the studio.  And being the new owner of a web site, I’ve also learned that finding the time to post in the summer is more difficult than the rest of the year, as the gardening and the desire to be outdoors is so compelling  that “indoor chores” fall far behind.

So here is what is happening this month.

We just finished setting up a show at Santa Lucia Coffee in Centralia.  I’m very pleased with it and encourage anyone who lives in the area or is coming up the I-5 corridor in the month of September to check it out.  Here is a link to their site for directions. www.santaluciaroasters.com/

It’s called “Sacred Water”.  I made a series of Shadow Boxes and Holy Water Fonts that speak to the essential nature of water in our lives.  From lakes and streams, to our places of worship, to a a good cup of coffee – water is at the heart of our existence.  Here are a few photos from that installation:

Later in September we will be participating in a Garden Art show at City Peoples in Seattle.  The show runs from September 18 – October 17.  We will be displaying several Totems, Lanterns, and Birdbaths. www.citypeoples.com/gardenstore/
The final event on our current calendar is the Artisan Tile Northwest’s, Handmade Tile Festival.  October 2nd in Seattle’s Madison Park.  Check out the Artisan Tile Northwest web site for all the information on that show.  www.artisantilenw.org/

We have had a couple of great kiln loads in August and will be taking some of that fresh out of the kiln tableware to the Olympia Farmers market on September 2nd and 3rd, and later in the month too if the weather holds!
